Case studies
The following gives a brief overview of some of the work that Squire Technologies has successfully completed for a number of clients.
Distributed VoIP Gateway
Our client required the design and development of a VoIP gateway that would provide a gateway between the SS7 PSTN network, a private H.323 VoIP network and inherent R2 equipment.
The final design consisted of a distributed architecture of a SS7 signaling gateway and VoIP and R2 gateways connected via IP as shown below. This model allows for a high level of redundancy and fast upgrade of system allowing for rapid growth.
Squire provided the complete design, development, QA, interconnect and support of the equipment that was produced.
Speech Recognition Goes Carrier Grade
Our client, a leading player in the Speech Recognition and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) market, required their product to be moved from an ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) to a Carrier Grade SS7 (Signalling System 7) Network. Squire provided complete Custom Product Development based on the Generic SS7 Signalling Gateway. This product benefits from being a fully Redundant, Carrier Grade SS7 Signalling Gateway . We designed and developed a Proprietary interface to communicate with our client's Product over TCP/IP and provided SS7 Intelligent Network Services over INAP. Squire provided on-site installation and network integration.

SMS Multimedia Platform
Our client required a front-end server that would provide interconnect to a Mobile GSM network and enable the generation of both SMS and ISUP signaling with the capability of injecting and detecting media on the bearer channels. A Java virtual machine interface was used to back haul an IN based API to a remote application environment.
SS7 IN SSP Platform
Our client required the development of an SSP switch that would enable the delivery of multimedia services (FAX, IVR, etc). The switch required being able to support multiple protocols, have remote OA&M access and provide an API to a proprietary SCP.
The design incorporated the Brooktrout NS700, TR1000 and Dialogic media boards running on a Windows NT platform.
Squire provided full design and project management of the system development and implemented test equipment to ensure the success of the system through German DTAG interconnect testing.
